Prof. Ros Cornforth to open the Oxfam Resilient Solutions symposium

Professor Ros Cornforth, director of the Walker Institute has been invited to be the keynote speaker at the Oxfam Resilient Solutions symposium held in Oxford on the 27-28 June.

The symposium focusses on strengthening collaboration in a time of change. Resilience is integrated into development and humanitarian frameworks via the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and the UN's sustainable development goals. It will look at how the humanitarian system is transforming to meet new challenges, and how we as a community can collaborate together with learning labs, and more.

The Walker Institute is also co-hosting the Disaster Risk Reduction and Global Law Symposium 29 June - 1 July aimed at encouraging discussion, debate, and progress the development of law, policy and practice governing DRR and disasters at the national, regional and international levels to increase resilience before, during and after disasters.
