Main professional activities 1983-1995 Worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan 1984-1986 Studied Hebrew in Jerusalem 1986-1988 Worked for the Embassy of Japan in Tel-Aviv 1988-1992 Worked for the Grant Aid Division of the Economic Cooperation Bureau, mainly taking charge of Bangladesh, Egypt, Sudan and Yemen. 1992-1994 Seconded to UNDP (New York, U.S.) 1994-1995 Worked for the International Energy Division 1996-2004 Worked for the Japan Committee for UNICEF 2008-2010 Worked as professor of the Tokyo Institute of Technology, teaching international human rights while served as deputy representative of environment NGO unit of the G8 Summit NGO Forum, a network of NGOs for the G8 Summit in 2008 2009 Organized the special workshop on “Human Rights in East Asia and the West: Definition of Self and Others” at the 24th World Conference of the International Association of Legal and Social Philosophy(IVR) 2008-2010 Served as Director of the Child Rights Center of the Save the Children Japan, engaged in the global campaign for the 3rd Optional Protocol/CRC for Communication Procedures under the Committee on the Rights of the Child since 2009 and served as a member of the steering group of the Child Rights Governance Initiative(CRGI) of the Save the Children International since 2010. 2010-2016 Worked as professor of SHOKEI GAKUIN University, teaching international human rights and peace studies, international relations and international economics and served as Senior adviser for the Save the Children Japan 2010 Made special presentation about the East Japan Great Earthquake at the Conference on the Council of Europe Strategy for the Rights of the Child 2012-2015 2011 Co-organized the special workshop on “Neo-Communitarian approach on the human rights in the East Asia” at the 25th World Conference of the International Association of Legal and Social Philosophy(IVR), in Frankfurt, Germany 2013 Co-organized the special workshop on “Interculturalism as a way of justifying human rights as universal norms in the age of globalization” at the 26th World Conference of the International Association of Legal and Social Philosophy(IVR), in Belo Horizonte, Brazil 2013 Delivered lecture on Toyohiko Kagawa – a Japanese pioneer of children’s rights - at the International Child Rights Forum organized by the former chair of the Committee on the Rights of the Child, Prof. Yanghee Lee at the Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, Korea 2014 Organized the International Child Rights Forum Part 2 in development and human right at the Waseda University with Ms.Yoko Kamikawa, Senior Vice-Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications(Currently the Minister of Justice) ,Professor Yanghee Lee, Sungkyunkwan University(Seoul/Korea), Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar and the Ex-chair of the Committee on the Rights of the Child, Ms.Amihan Abueva, the State Representative of the Government of Philippine for the ASEAN Commission on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women(ACWC) and the Ex-president of ECPAT International at the Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan 2015 Organized one-day side-event as a part of the 3rd UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in Sendai, Japan 2015 Co-organized the special workshop on “Characteristics of Law and Justice in East Asia” at the 27th World Conference of the International Association of Legal and Social Philosophy(IVR), in Washington D.C., U.S.A 2015 Presented research paper on intercultural education through multilingual program and ICT at the International Conference on Innovation in Arts, Social Science, and Education in New York, U.S.A 2016-2017 As a visiting scholar to the Columbia University, conducting research on the underlying philosophies of human rights in the contemporary multicultural society and developing the hybrid global education program, utilizing multilingual program , life coaching , mindfulness program and expressive-arts therapy as well as ICT.
