Dr Stefania Lovo

I am a Lecturer in Economics at the University of Reading, UK. My research interests are in development economics, environmental economics, applied microeconomics and policy impact evaluation. In particular, I have studied how deforestation interacts with ethnic diversity and institutional quality, how tenure insecurity, climate shocks and crop choices affect rural household welfare and how environmental policies impact on firm location, international trade and firm performance. I also collaborate as consultant with the World Bank and the European Commission. Before joining the University of Reading I was a post-doctoral researcher at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the London School of Economics. Previously, I worked as Econometrician at the Legatum Institute, a London-based think tank and I collaborated in the past with the Italian Development Cooperation in the West Bank
