A master in Environmental Sciences (India) did course in Integrated Water Resources Management-IWRM (Canada) and specializes in mountain environment and climate change aspects. Has over 18 years of experience in Water, Sanitation, Environment and Climate change related projects and programmes with Governments, UN, Scientific institutions, Multilateral and corporate agencies. He has worked extensively in Himalayan region on water and climate change aspects and coordinated technical cooperation projects. He lead around 50 WASH and Environment sector research evaluation studies in India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka which included designing research frameworks, developing study plans and writing and finalizing study reports. During 1997-2003 worked as environment specialist in Swajal (World Bank assisted) sector reform project. He was involved in knowledge networking, awareness generation and advocacy aspects of Water and Climate change aspects in 4 South Asian countries like Bhutan, India, Nepal and Pakistan. Provided technical and advisory support in the development of National Climate Action Plans in these countries on Climate adaption and water development issues while built the capacities of local stakeholders (trainings & workshops) on various climate adaptation and mitigation aspects. Developed first kind of online knowledge management (KM) portal on environment, climate change and water aspects that contains scientific articles, audio visuals, briefs, case studies, good practices, etc with a network of 3000+ members and 20 international partner agencies including UNFCCC, UNDP and Google. Has over 40 scientific publications on water, environment, climate change and mountain development issues, and is an active member of number of national and international agencies and scientific environment groups including WSSCC, IUCN, IWHA, IWRS, GWA, IRN, UN Solution exchange, Mountain Forum and Focal point to UN mountain partnership.
